Reconnecting a Community and School District
to Enhance Educational Outcomes of Students
Industry:
Educational Services
Client’s Goal:
Anderson Community School District has had declining enrollment for years. The board and leadership team were ready and committed to reducing the decline. Anderson Community School District aspired to reconnect the District to the community, family, parents, and students. To turn around declining enrollment, the District wanted community members to know about the quality of education they can expect from the Anderson Schools.
Our Solution:
Anderson Community Schools (ACS) hired Stratavize Consulting Inc. to help develop a competitive strategy to increase enrollment, and create a strategic plan that gave the District clear direction on what promise they wanted to make to parents, future graduates, and the community. Engaging the students, employees, and the community in the process was essential
In partnership with ACS, our process was to:
Create a Strategic Planning Guiding Team comprised of a diverse stakeholder group, including parents, community members, teachers, board members, and district leadership.
Engage community members through surveys and listening sessions.
Invite students to participate by hosting a focus group at the high school.
Research the Indiana School Districts’ environment today to identify opportunities to enrich their District’s educational options.
Develop a shared vision of the future that every teacher, team member, and District Board Member could be proud to share with parents, students, and community members.
Hear from ACS directly on how they felt about the process
